학사 규정 (School Regulations)
1.등록금 환불 및 크레딧 관련
(1) 환불: 수업 시작 한달 전까지 환불 가능하며, 그 이후에는 환불은 원칙적으로 불가합니다. 하지만, 학교의 세부규정에 따라 크레딧 등 처리방법을 의논할 수 있으니, 학교장과 개별 상담을 해주십시오.
(2) 크레딧: 환불 기간 이후 ~ 수업 시작 전까지는 크레딧 적용만 가능합니다. 크레딧 사용시, 미리 사전에 이야기해주십시오. [email protected] 로 자세한 내용을 보내주시는 것이 가장 정확하고, 빠른 방법입니다.
(3) 단, 건강, 이사 등의 부득이한 경우에는 학교장과 상담후 처리해 드립니다.
2.수업 출석, 조퇴 및 결석
(1) 모든 학생은 수업 시작 전에 입실해야 합니다.
(2) 지각: 수업 시작하고 1교시 이후에 오는 경우
(3) 조퇴: 수업 종료 전 1시간 전에 가는 경우. 조퇴 시 보호자께서 로비의 사무장님에게 오셔서 조퇴 관련 싸인을 하신 후에, 자녀의 픽업을 도와드릴 수 있습니다.
(4) 결석시에는 담임교사에게 이메일이나 전화로 미리 연락하시길 바랍니다.
(5) 모두 출석이면 개근, 1번 결석이면 정근으로 간주한다. (‘Sickness’으로 인해 미리 사전에 이야기하고 결석을 한 경우에는, excused absence로 반영하여 개근/정근의 결격 사유가 되지 않습니다. 하지만 다른 사유의 예외는 없습니다.
(6) 학년도를 마무리하는 종강식에 개근/ 정근상 시상이 있습니다.
3.사고의 책임
(1) 학생이 학교의 건물이나 물건을 훼손했을 경우, 혹은 동료학생에게 상해를 입힌 경우에는 가해 학생의 보호자가 책임지고 합의 및 보상합니다.
(2) 위의 학생이 수업에 참여하는 동안에 학생에게 일어날지 모르는 어떤 부상, 상해 등에 대해 학교에 모든 책임을 묻지 않습니다.
(3) 병이나 부상이 발생할 경우, 학교 스태프에 필요한 응급조치를 취하도록 허락하고, 학교에 책임을 묻지 않습니다.
4.휴대폰 사용 및 개인 물품 소지
(1) 학교에 있는 동안 휴대폰을 꺼내지 않습니다. 쉬는 시간이나 간식 시간에도 삼갑니다.
(2) 담임교사의 허락없이 휴대폰을 사용할 경우 처음에는 경고, 두 번째는 담임 선생님이 보관하고, 하교 시에 부모님이 오셔서 찾아가셔야 합니다.
(3) 장난감, 카드, 전자게임기 등 학교에 가져 오기에 부적절한 물품을 금지합니다. 이를 어길 경우, 휴대폰 사용과 같은 방법을 적용합니다.
(4) 금지된 물품에 대한 분실이나 파손된 경우, 학교에서는 책임지지 않습니다.
5.음식물 관련
(1) 음식물 알러지가 있는 학생은 담임선생님께 미리 알려 주시기 바랍니다. 필요에 따라 개인 간식을 따로 지참하도록 합니다.
(2) 교실내에서는 어떠한 음식도 먹을 수 없습니다. (물 제외) 필요한 경우, 개인 물병을 가져오도록 합니다. (이름을 꼭 써주세요.)
(3) 체육관 안에는 음료수, 스낵 등 음식물 반입을 금합니다.
6.학교 규율
맡겨주신 학생을 아름다운 미주한인, 미국시민으로 바르게 자랄 수 있도록 교육하고 지도하며, 전체 학교 내의 공신력있고 올바른 질서를 세우는 것이 페더럴웨이 통합한국학교의 목표입니다.
(1) 출석은 일주일에 한 번만 하므로 반드시 지키도록 합니다.
(2) 결석/조퇴 시에는 담임 선생님께 미리 알립니다.
(3) 학교에 있는 동안에는 항상 담임 선생님 또는 TA와 함께 있어야 합니다.
(4) 교실이나 복도에서 뛰거나 소리지르지 않습니다.
(5) 학생 개개인의 소지품 관리는 스스로 하며 분실 시 책임은 자신에게 있습니다.
(6) 다른 사람 물건을 허락없이 만지거나 가지지 않습니다.
(7) 학교에서 폭력은 무조건 금지되어 있습니다. 친구를 괴롭히지도 않습니다.
(8) 학교에 무기나 위험한 물건, 또는 학습에 방해되는 물건 (컴퓨터 게임기, 스마트 폰등) 을 가지고 오지 않습니다.
(9) 학교의 물건에 손상을 입히면 그 값에 해당하는 배상을 합니다.
7.학생 지도 규정
나쁜 말 사용, 학교 재산 피해, 몸싸움, 학교 관계자들에 대한 무례한 언행 등은 출석 금지를 야기할 수도 있습니다. 학생들은 항상 서로 돕고, 선생님들과 학교 관계자들께 공손해야 합니다. 학생과 TA들은 학교의 질서 유지와 안전을 위하여 학교의 규율을 준수할 의무가 있습니다. 이 규율 위반할 시에는 선도 및 징계 처분을 받게 됩니다. 학교장이 교육상 필요하다고 인정할 때는 학생과 TA에게 선도 및 징계 조치를 할 수 있습니다. 선도 및 징계는 그 정도에 따라 (규율 위반 단계Ⅰ- Ⅲ에 근거하여) 근신 벌칙 또는 퇴학으로 하며, 정도의 내용은 다음과 같습니다.
(1) 품행이 불량하여 학교생활을 할 수 없다고 판정 된 학생
(2) 학생 본분에 어긋나는 개인/집단행동으로 수업을 방해한 학생
(3) 연속 무단 장기 결석생
8.학기 등록을 한 경우는 아래의 문서에 동의하고 서명한 것으로 간주합니다.
(1) 사진 및 영상 사용 동의서
본인은 우리 아이의 사진이나 영상이 학교 웹사이트, 소셜미디어, 인쇄물, 홍보자료 등 페더럴웨이 통합한국학교가 발행하거나 사용하는 모든 매체에 사용되는 것을 허락합니다. 이로 인해 발생할 수 있는 그 어떤 책임도 학교 측에 묻지 않을 것입니다.이 동의서는 자녀의 재학 기간 동안 유효하며, 보호자가 변경을 요청하지 않는 한 별도의 업데이트는 필요하지 않습니다.
(2) 책임 면제 확인서
본교의 교사들과 관계자들은 학생들의 안전을 최우선으로 여기며 최선을 다할 것입니다.그러나, 수업 중 또는 학교 활동 중 발생할 수 있는 사고에 대해, 본인은 학교 측에 어떠한 법적 책임도 묻지 않을 것에 동의합니다. 이와 같은 조건을 충분히 읽고 이해하신 후 입학원서를 제출해 주시기 바랍니다.
(3) 비차별 정책 안내문
본교는 인종, 피부색, 출신 국가 및 민족적 배경에 관계없이, 모든 학생들에게 동등한 권리, 특권, 프로그램, 활동 참여 기회를 제공합니다. 또한, 인종, 피부색, 출신 국가 및 민족적 배경을 이유로 교육 정책, 입학 정책, 장학금 제도, 그리고 기타 학교에서 운영하는 프로그램에 있어 어떠한 차별도 하지 않습니다.
(4) 의료 동의서
본인은 위에 명시된 학생이 수업 및 학교 행사에 참여하는 것에 동의합니다.의료 응급 상황 발생 시, 학교 측은 보호자에게 연락을 취하기 위해 최선의 노력을 다할 것입니다. 위급상황 발생 시 보호자와 연락이 되지 않을 경우, 본인은 학교 측에서 지정한 의료 제공자가 학생의 건강과 안전을 위해 필요한 적절한 치료(입원, 주사, 마취, 수술 포함)를 시행하는 것을 허락합니다. 또한, 그 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 부상 또는 손해에 대해, 원인이 과실이든 아니든 관계없이 학교 측과 그 소속 교직원, 대리인, 구성원에게 법적 책임을 묻지 않을 것에 동의합니다.

1.Tuition Refund and Credit Policy
(1) Refunds: Refunds are available up to one month before the start of classes. After that, refunds are generally not permitted. However, depending on the school’s detailed policy, alternative solutions such as credit may be discussed. Please consult with the principal individually.
(2) Credit: After the refund period and before the start of classes, only credit can be issued. If you wish to use credit, please notify us in advance. Sending detailed information to [email protected] is the most accurate and fastest method.
(3) In unavoidable cases such as health issues or relocation, arrangements may be made after consultation with the principal.
2.Class Attendance, Early Dismissal, and Absences
(1) All students must be in their classrooms before class begins.
(2) Tardiness: Arriving after the first period has started.
(3) Early Dismissal: Leaving more than one hour before classes end. In such cases, a parent/guardian must come to the lobby, sign the early dismissal form with the staff, and then pick up their child.
(4) In case of absence, please notify the homeroom teacher in advance via email or phone.
(5) Students with perfect attendance are recognized; one absence qualifies for good attendance. If an absence is pre-reported due to illness, it will be marked as an excused absence and will not affect perfect/good attendance status. There are no exceptions for other reasons.
(6) Awards for perfect/good attendance are given at the end-of-year closing ceremony.
3.Liability for Accidents
(1) If a student damages school property or injures another student, the guardian of the responsible student shall be liable for resolution and compensation.
(2) The school assumes no liability for any injury or harm that may occur to students during school participation.
(3) In the event of illness or injury, the school is authorized to administer necessary first aid, and the school shall not be held liable.
4.Use of Cell Phones and Personal Items
(1) Students must not use or take out cell phones while at school, including during breaks or snack time.
(2) If a student uses a cell phone without the teacher’s permission, the first offense will result in a warning. For the second offense, the teacher will keep the phone, and a parent must pick it up at the end of the school day.
(3) Items inappropriate for school such as toys, cards, and electronic games are prohibited. Violations will be handled in the same manner as cell phone use.
(4) The school is not responsible for the loss or damage of prohibited items.
5.Food Policy
(1) Students with food allergies must inform their homeroom teacher in advance. If necessary, students may bring their own snacks.
(2) No food is allowed in classrooms (except water). Students should bring a personal water bottle if needed (please label it with their name).
(3) Food or beverages, including snacks and drinks, are not allowed inside the gym.
6.School Rules
Federal Way Korean School strives to educate and guide students to become respectful Korean-Americans and responsible U.S. citizens, while maintaining a trustworthy and orderly environment throughout the school.
(1) As classes meet only once a week, students must attend regularly.
(2) Notify the homeroom teacher in advance in case of absence or early dismissal.
(3) Students must always be with their homeroom teacher or TA while on campus.
(4) Do not run or shout in classrooms or hallways.
(5) Students are responsible for managing their personal belongings; the school is not liable for any loss.
(6) Do not touch or take others’ belongings without permission.
(7) Violence is strictly prohibited. Do not bully or harass others.
(8) Weapons, dangerous items, or distracting objects such as gaming devices or smartphones must not be brought to school.
(9) Students must compensate for any damage to school property.
7.Student Conduct Policy
Use of inappropriate language, damage to school property, fighting, and disrespect toward school staff may result in suspension. Students must always help one another and be respectful to teachers and staff. Students and TAs are obligated to follow school rules to maintain order and safety. Violations will result in guidance or disciplinary action. If the principal deems it educationally necessary, guidance or disciplinary measures may be applied.
Disciplinary actions, based on violation levels (Stages I–III), may include probation or expulsion, depending on the severity:
(1) Students deemed unfit for school life due to misconduct.
(2) Students disrupting class through improper individual or group behavior.
(3) Students with repeated and extended unexcused absences.
8.By registering for the semester, you are deemed to have agreed to and signed the following documents:
(1) Photo and Video Consent Form
I authorize the use of my child’s photos or videos in any media issued or used by Federal Way Korean School, including the school’s website, social media, printed materials, and promotional content. I will not hold the school liable for any resulting issues. This consent is valid for the duration of the child’s enrollment unless a parent requests a change.
(2) Liability Waiver Form
Our teachers and staff prioritize student safety and will do their best to ensure it. However, I agree not to hold the school legally liable for any accidents that may occur during classes or school activities. Please read and understand this condition before submitting the registration form.
(3) Non-Discrimination Policy Notice
Our school provides all students with equal rights, privileges, programs, and opportunities regardless of race, color, national origin, or ethnic background. We do not discriminate in the administration of educational policies, admissions, scholarships, or any school-operated programs.
(4) Medical Consent Form
I give permission for the above-named student to participate in classes and school activities. In case of a medical emergency, the school will make every effort to contact the guardian. If unreachable, I authorize the school’s designated medical provider to administer necessary and appropriate treatment (including hospitalization, injection, anesthesia, or surgery) for the student’s health and safety. I also agree not to hold the school, its staff, agents, or affiliates legally liable for any injuries or damages arising from such treatment, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

I will not hold the school liable for any resulting issues. This consent is valid for the duration of the child’s enrollment unless a parent requests a change.
(2) Liability Waiver Form
Our teachers and staff prioritize student safety and will do their best to ensure it. However, I agree not to hold the school legally liable for any accidents that may occur during classes or school activities. Please read and understand this condition before submitting the registration form.
(3) Non-Discrimination Policy Notice
Our school provides all students with equal rights, privileges, programs, and opportunities regardless of race, color, national origin, or ethnic background. We do not discriminate in the administration of educational policies, admissions, scholarships, or any school-operated programs.
(4) Medical Consent Form
I give permission for the above-named student to participate in classes and school activities. In case of a medical emergency, the school will make every effort to contact the guardian. If unreachable, I authorize the school’s designated medical provider to administer necessary and appropriate treatment (including hospitalization, injection, anesthesia, or surgery) for the student’s health and safety. I also agree not to hold the school, its staff, agents, or affiliates legally liable for any injuries or damages arising from such treatment, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
